Voices GY's mission is to 'empower the voices of our communities through fostering diversity and strengthening community-led development'. We work to support vulnerable peoples in Guyana to access the means to overcome human and environmental challenges facing them and their communities.
Commencing activities in early 2018, Voices GY has played a key role in Guyana's civil society response towards the spiralling humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, as well as supporting in indigenous languages and grassroots environmental activism. At the centre of all that we do is Education as a tool for empowerment.
From June 2022, Voices GY will enter into a period of dormancy to cater to changes in the organisation's leadership. After having supported the establishment of the Migrant Focal Points group in 2022, we are confident that the seeds have been sown for a migrant-led response to future challenges.
